What a crazy 24 hours! We always try to do something on each trip that veteran pilgrims have never done before, but sleeping in the Atlanta airport on tables, benches, and cement floors wasn't quite on the list. BUT! God is with us! He is helping, by His grace, there hasn't been a single cursory word among the group. We have been a little giddy, but just happy to be together.
Last Sunday, God revealed in prayer that He was longing to bless us! Sounds great, right? Well, the word came through the revelation of the blessing of covenant. Jacob, wrestling with an angel. He "touched" his hip, and Israel never walked the same. This was and is the blessing God has said He has for us.
Now for the story.....
Stephen and Michelle Carpenter have joined us from Knoxville, TN. Last night, she was on the phone with a man of prayer and discernment. After they hung up the phone the Lord began to impress on him that there was something wrong with our plane. Believing we were already in the air, he began to plead for God's mercy for us. He prayed up all night in prayer, asking to guide the right personnel to find the malfunctioning area. Little did he know that we had already taxied out to the runway. Before we got clearance to take off, (last minute, do you understand!) the pilot informed us that we were returning to the terminal so the engineers could fix something. We spent the next two hours on the plane, just waiting while the lights flickered on and off and the plane would randomly power down. The captain informed us they were canceling the flight because of a generator failure. Can someone say PRAISE GOD!! For answered prayer, for praying men and women of God!
Kathy Young spoke to her parents (Tommy and Katherine Richardson) this morning and they too had been restless all night praying for our protection! Thank you Jesus for this miracle of protection.
So after spending the night in the lumpy airport waiting areas, we thank God for His intervention, salvation and BLESSING! We had a wonderful mini-service in the airport this morning.
We are about to take off for real this time! The next blog really should be from Israel!
I prayed last night and this morning. Thank GOD that you guys are safe. This is all part of his plan.
ReplyDeletePraise the LORD...cold chills ran up and down my spine as I read of God providing a prayer covering of protection for our friends. As Alex Said this morning..."He is able".
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus! Praise god! He is worthy! This reminds me of trips past when God would speak to Rev. Helm and stop a plane from departing or delay it jsut the right amount of time. I look forward to hearing what God does at the other end why the delay? who will you meet, what will you miss? God is so good!
ReplyDeleteThankful you guys made it safely. Yesterday was a pretty rough one with headaches and all. G_d hears our cry even when we do not know what we are praying for. Thankful that we have learned to listen when we do not feel well and pray, not just excuse it. I can not wait to hear the blessed stories. Love you guys.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for His great deliverance. God has intervened through the prayers of others. I am thankful to see everyone safe, and to see my wife safe and smiling, and Kelsey as well. Praise His name. We are praying for His work and will to be done.

I believe God had burdened me also most of the day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for something about the plane or trip...I couldn't dicern what exactly but I prayed often for every part of a plane I could think of. I knew God was at work. Praise God for his divine delay.
